First week of school finished

First week of school finished and we all survived and the boys are still keen to go back. They've actually had a great week.

I had a really good day too. Anessa is visiting from Hong Kong and she made the effort to come see me. I'm quite impressed as she is only here for 4 days and spending most of that time searching for wedding dresses for her sister who is getting married in November. I'm trying hard to convince Anessa to come to Finland in the summer to visit. It's not a very long way from Hong Kong, relative to Australia. So we may have quite the Aussie delegation there for Roald's Finland Christening. Anessa looked great, Credit Suisse must be suiting her.

After Anessa left, Roald and I went to the hairdresser. This is always such a relaxing experience. Roald thought so too and did not move the whole time we were there. I think the hairdressers thought he was a doll.

We worked hard earlier today and finally got a photo with his eyes open. There is only a small margin for this as he sleeps most of the time or eats with his eyes closed.

Tiredness hits home

I am officially tired now. 2.5 weeks of sleeping a maximum of 3 hours at a time is starting to take its toll. I went to the supermarket with Roald and was quite surprised when unloading my shopping that I had purchased around 10 packets of sweet biscuits and various types of coffee but really no food. Next time I think I will have to do a shopping list otherwise I will be eating only sugar and drinking only coffee. Roald is still just such a sweet baby. It's not his fault that his stomach only holds enough milk to last 3 and a bit hours.

Started organising the boys' birthday parties today. Felix wants a reptile party and Max is still deciding. Lots to do....

Felix is still very keen on his crown.

Max and I are yet again addicted to watching the Fatties on the Biggest Loser. Pretty sad that it is really the only 'adult' TV I watch all year. Max keeps asking me when I'm going to go on it... I wonder if he is trying to tell me something...

No photos of Roald today as he is so fast asleep that I don't want to stir him with the camera flash. The poor little boy has been in and out of cars today and is really tired. Sort of like his mum really.

Swimming

Swimming started again today. Both boys are really loving the water. Max went up a level and is in the 'Seal' group now.

When we left swimming, Felix wore his crown but decided that shorts were an optional extra that he could do without.

Roald meets Health Care Nurse

Today Roald had his first appointment with the Health Care Nurse. He is doing really well. He has put on 380 g since we left hospital a week ago. I got a smiley face in his book from the nurse. He is pretty much on a 4-hourly cycle. You could almost time your watch by it. This is good for planning purposes. I must admit though that mornings are tough and I need about 7 cups of coffee to wake up. The good thing is that I know that this stage does not last forever.

The boys are well settled back at school. Max said that today was his best day ever. That's always nice to hear.

Pokemon is still pretty special in our house. Felix is quite an expert at it too. Photo of boys playing with Pokemon.
