Visiting the Sparks

First day of school holidays today and we visited Shane & Bron. We had a fantastic day and enjoyed a lovely lunch with the Sparks. After lunch Shane took the kids out for a ride on the lawnmower and to have a play with the Boink. Max and Felix were very impressed.

Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNE!!

Lovely cool day

It has been such a nice day, lovely and cool. Come on winter!!!

Jerry still thinks that he is a lap dog and enjoys sitting on Emma's knee.

Cool change arrived

How beautiful, the cool change arrived and the temperature has dropped to 26. It feels lovely.

Today Roald and I have had a busy day. Firstly, Lisa and Tess came to visit this morning. Tess was very taken with Roald. IMG_1077

Then Roald and I went to have his hearing tested. He had to have cables out of his head, behind his ears and in his ears. He looked impressive.

At dinnertime Felix had lots of things to say as usual. He explained to me that only naughty boys say shut up and if they say it dinosaurs and bull ants will come and eat them. Then he said that he saw a bull ant today and it was scared of him and then he squished it. Apparently the bull ant was right to be scared.

Felix eats his dinner with feeling. Some did go into his mouth too.

Hot hot hot

Still so hot. It's 11pm and still 30 degrees. I don't think it will cool down today. I had to pack the rooster up in his box and put it in the cellar. He would have melted in the cubby house. The boys and Emma went swimming next door at Lynda's house after school today. Lucky we have neighbors with pools! I didn't actually take any photos today as I cleaned so efficiently that I lost my camera and it is probably melted somewhere now. My poor brain just isn't working too well nowadays. I have a good but short memory..

Max's cousin Silja shares the same birthday as him (this was done to help Uncle Esko who also has a poor memory for these things). Silja is looking very much the big girl being 4 now.

Happy Birthday Silja!

ps Marjo, I'm impressed with the cake!

Grand Prix day

Melbourne F1 Grand Prix was today. I had actually planned to take the boys but it was 38, so decided it was too hot to go. I am melting. The house is pretty hot inside now too as all the bricks have heated up. It's like a pizza oven. The only one who really likes it is Roald. He is like a little salamander spread on the floor enjoying the heat.

Max and Felix have had a great day too. We picked up my cousin Tiina's friend's daughter Emma today. She has been backpacking around Australia for the last 6 months and is now on her Melbourne leg. She is enjoying the heat too after spending the last couple of months in COLD Sydney. Sydney has had a really crap summer heat wise.

Roald cheering for the Finns in the Grand Prix.
