Viivu is back
22/11/08 11:04
Viivu is back from her trip to Australia. She has to
get her tests done under the same trial, for various
reasons, so she returns to Australia for the
six-monthly tests.
It was kind of strange. I was in Finland with the boys, whilst Viivu was in Australia. Hilkka was helping look after the kids instead of Wendy. Antipodean.
Whilst Viivu was away, I walked Felix to school and we discovered the local beach. It’s nothing like an Australian beach, but it’s a nice walk. It has a fenced-off dog beach, and a fenced-off dog park nearby.
Roald has his first teeth. He’s still such a smiley baby. He just needs to catch your eye to break out into a huge smile.
The weather has become colder, and we’ve had our first dusting of snow. More snow expected tonight. The sea nearby has a thin layer of ice on it. Felix and I went down to have a look. We threw rocks on the ice and most of them bounced further out. The ice was up to 15mm thick.
We heard a noise, and a guy in a tinny was motoring slowly through the middle, breaking and pushing the ice away. I hope he knew what he was doing.
Before Viivu left, I took the boys to see the Monster Trucks. It was held at the Hartwall Areena, which is normally used for hockey. The boys loved it. They also celebrated Halloween, which seems quite popular here. They wore their scariest Star Wars outfits.
Here’s some photos for you.
