We are getting a new Dishwasher!

Miracles will never cease, but after seven years of complaining, we are finally getting a new dishwasher. I never thought that the purchase of a whitegood would be so fulfilling. They are coming to install it in a few weeks. I'm so excited.

Dom, Roald and I had a lovely day shopping for the dishwasher. The boys were at Gav and Caroline's and we actually had some time to ourselves. Can't remember the last time that has happened. It was just a splendid afternoon.

When we got home, Max helped feed Roald with Felix supervising.

Roald was very full and happy afterward and had a little look around at the big world outside of Mummy's tummy.

My mum rang last night with some sad news from Finland. My grandmother passed away yesterday. It's funny, it was expected but it is still so sad. She was 87.

Mummy's hols start ie First day of School

My hols started today. School is back!!!! Definitely no tears shed here. Boys were so happy to go too. Felix just kept on saying that 'I'm going to school!'. We even got there on time, which is a miracle in itself. Amazing how a baby slows everything down.

Now there are no pictures of Max at school because as soon as we got there he just RAN to his class. He wanted to catch up with all his friends before the bell rang. It is really nice to have happy children that enjoy going to school.

Uniforms are on, bags are packed. Notice the new haircuts.

Felix found his seat straight away and it is next to his best friend Yohei.

On a sombre note, it is twelve months today that Anne and Tiina lost their brother and father in a head-on collision in Finland. Just so you guys know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, especially on this sad day.

Orientation Day

Today Max and Felix had orientation day at school and both met their teachers. Felix's teacher is Mrs Smith and Max's is a man. Max promptly forgot his name, but promised to find out tomorrow. Both boys are really looking forward to going back. Max told me he has a really good class (they get scrambled every year) and doesn't have any of his 'arch enemies' in it. Just his best friends. I'm very pleased. Maybe he can spend less time in the principal's office this year :)

Felix is also excited, his best friend Yohei is in his class. Both boys have really small classes, Max has 13 kids in his and Felix 16. I can tell you that I'll be popping the champagne tomorrow morning once school run is done. The last couple of weeks, the boys have just fought and fought and fought. Very annoying to listen to. At least Roald is pretty easily satisfied, just give him milk and all is ok.

It's funny I was filling out Roald's registration forms yesterday and you have to put done what the mother does for a living. For the first time ever, mine was 'home duties'. Felt pretty funny having been a career banker for so long. Must admit that I much prefer my new role, the pay is not as good, but perks are better.

Now as Roald does nothing really but eat and sleep, the photos that appear here are mainly him sleeping.

Found my camera!

Lost my camera there for a while, hence the delay in uploading photos. But all found now. So nice to be home. I cleaned out the chook shed yesterday and did lots of washing. It's nice to be back to normal. Roald is still in contention for Good Baby of the year award. He just sleeps and eats.

Jerry is doing very well with having another rugrat in the house. Coco is not really sure what Roald is. She keeps a good eye on him though. Poor girl doesn't know what she's in for when he grows into a toddler...

Max is very excited. He just talks the whole time about how good it is to have a baby brother. Felix checks on him around 100 times per day to see that everything is ok. They are very good big brothers. School starts on Friday. Tomorrow we have orientation day and the boys meet their new teachers. Hard to believe that Max is in year 3 and Felix in Prep. I will also drop off Roald's enrollment forms. Hopefully he will get straight in as he is only a week old and not onto a waiting list. He will be enrolled for Prep in 2013!

Going Home!

Today is the day that reality sets in. We are going home!! It has been nice being in hospital for the full five days. Sort of like a mini-break. Beautiful food served on a regular basis, no noise and just resting, reading and healing. But I am definitely ready to go home. There is only so much resting a person can do. I got my staples out yesterday and my stomach feels better.

Roald is a pretty good snoozer too, just like his brothers. I think he would rest wherever we were. He is doing really well. His weight had dropped to 2.8 kilos on day 3 and now it is up to 2.9 on day 5, so he is gaining weight well. I have to say that he is just such a good baby. He just eats and then you put him to bed and he falls asleep. No mucking around or anything. Hopefully this continues and he is not just lulling me into a false sense of security. I, on the other hand, have a temperature today and am feeling quite ill. Of course this would happen on the day I go home. Oh well, life, I guess.

Picture of Roald waiting to go home. As you can see he is looking very stressed.
